Gaggia Classic GT & Gaggia MDF Grinder
Special Price $2,999 – bought separately $3,898
The Gaggia Classic GT pushes the boundaries of functionality as weโve come to expect from modern, prosumer-grade dual-boilers, and it does so housed in a package thatโs as compact as its price point. With dual-PIDs, options for manual and automated pre-infusion, and a large, intuitive screen, the GT gives you the power necessary to consistently coax nuanced flavors from specialty coffees in with every extraction.
Features & Benefits
Despite being one of the easiest-to-use prosumers out there, the Gaggia GT delivers precision, power, and features enough to satisfy even hardcore espresso enthusiasts. With dual-PID regulation, it offers exceptional brew temperature stability, and impressive steam performance to boot. The option to program automatic low-flow pre-infusion, or do it manually for each brew cycle, means the GT is capable of producing consistent, high-quality shots. It also features a height-adjustable drip tray and an easily-accessible external OPV, which allows you to customize your brew pressure with the simple twist of a screwdriver.
The GT is designed and built entirely in Italy from commercial-grade components. Its stainless steel housing is remarkably thick, providing serious protection for the internals: a 3.38 oz eco-brass brew boiler and 0.9 L stainless steel steam boiler. In our testing, the GT is capable of pulling back to back shots almost indefinitely without losing temperature stability. When it comes to steam power, the GT impresses, too: it takes just 20 seconds to heat 5 oz of milk to 60c, and the single-hole steam wand gives exceptional control, producing a vigorous roil in the pitcher. The GT also uses a fast heat up feature that gets you brew-ready in just five minutes and full steam power in seven.
Settings are adjusted using a large, easy-to-read, color-TFT screen with a series of highly-responsive capacitive-touch buttons. This menu allows you to adjust brew and steam temperatures, select one of three automated pre-infusion profiles, daily wake-up scheduling, shutoff timer, eco mode, and more with ease. The machine also uses a series of five toggle switches that control the main power, manual pre-infusion, brewing, hot water, and steam.
The GTโs manual pre-infusion is a particularly exciting feature, one which very few other machines give you this level of control over. Press and hold the toggle to initiate a low-flow pre-infusion at just 3.5 grams per second, which the machine times for you. Once youโve reached your desired pre-infusion time, release the toggle and the GT begins timing your soaking period, during which water is allowed to fully saturate your puck. Then, just press the brew toggle to begin your full-pressure extraction.
